screen building in the Black Box – I feel like I’ve been doing lots of laundry…

trial screen forms

Posted in [2011] corner monster by Suk Kyoung Choi on April 15, 2011

for the first attempt, I tried to build a sculptural screen with rattan,

to make the rattan straight, I soaked them in the water for about 30 min.

and dried and straightened them by applying tension.

tried to tie the rattan together with strings, crazy glue, hot glue..

and wire.

And this is how it looked.

I still like the organic form and structure, however with the time available for the first installation, it seemed like lots of labor…

FSR (in the picture) dimensions:

  • Overall length: 2.375″
  • Overall width: 0.75″
  • Sensing diameter: 0.5″

First test for analog FSR measurement.

Second FSR connected.
